Becoming Jane The early life of Jane Austen is the subject of Becoming Jane, a film which focuses on her relationship with an often uncouth young man called Tom Lefroy. James McAvoy, who plays Lefroy, joins Francine Stock - and Francine also talks to the director Julian Jarrold about the film's audaciously imaginative approach to a period of Jane Austen's life about which little is known.

Outlaw The writer and director Nick Love - whose previous films include Football Factory and The Business - joins Francine to discuss Outlaw, a dystopian view of a violent and lawless Britain.
The Good German Francine talks in depth to the Hollywood director Steven Soderbergh, whose output includes both commercial thrillers and bold experiments with cinema conventions. His latest movie, The Good German, combines major-league acting talent with artistic risk-taking, and is an audacious evocation of the 1940s noir thriller. He talks about his idiosyncratic approach to cinema.
