On The Film Programme this week:
Miami Vice
Miami Vice was one of the most successful American TV series of the 1980s. Now the two Florida cops it featured, Crockett and Tubbs, are hitting the big screen in a darker, updated film version directed by Michael Mann, the executive producer responsible for the original. Chris Tookey talks to one of the film's stars, Jamie Foxx, and to director Michael Mann.
Miami Vice (15) is on general release now.

Superheroines
In one of this week's film releases, Uma Thurman stars as the female superhero G-Girl, who wages a feud after being dumped by her boyfriend. Chris is joined by critic Larushka Ivan-Zadeh to look back at a recent slew of superheroine films, and to ask why there have until now been so few of them.
My Super Ex-Girlfriend (12A) is out today.
The Notorious Bettie Page
Chris talks to Canadian writer/director Mary Harron. Her latest film is an unconventional biopic of the 50s pin-up model Bettie Page, who became a figure of notoriety after a US Congress committee investigated her pictures for obscenity. Mary Harron, who made her reputation with her films I Shot Andy Warhol and American Psycho, explains her fascination with Page.
The Notorious Bettie Page (18) is out now.
