Francine is in Hollywood for a special interview with composer John Williams, whose memorable scores include Jaws, Star Wars, ET and Schindler's List.
On The Film Programme this week:
Francine Stock goes to Hollywood for a rare interview with the composer John Williams. Jaws, Star Wars, Superman, Raiders of the Lost Ark, ET, Schindler's List - it's impossible to imagine those films without Williams' iconic scores. His 45 Oscar nods make him the second most nominated person in history, behind Walt Disney. He talks to Francine about his music, his influences and his close relationship with director Steven Spielberg.
John Williams' Oscar-nominated soundtracks for Munich and Memoirs of a Geisha are currently available. The films are still playing in some cinemas and are scheduled for DVD release in June.
