She talks with Stephen Woolley director of 'Stoned', a new film about Brian Jones, founder member of The Rolling Stones; actor Michael Pitt, who played a rock star very like Kurt Cobain in Gus van Sant's 'Last Days' and Nick James, editor of 'Sight and Sound' magazine.
'Stoned', certificate 15, is released in selected cinemas from 18 November 2005. 'Last Days', certificate 15, will be available on DVD from 9 January 2006. 'Walk the Line', the biopic of Johnny Cash, certificate 12A, will be released in cinemas on 3 February 2006. 'Ray', the biopic of Ray Charles, certificate 15, is available now on DVD.
Sophie Scholl
Francine Stock talks to Marc Rothemund, the director of new German film 'Sophie Scholl'. The film is about a student member of the White Rose resistance movement in Munich who in 1943 was arrested for distributing leaflets criticising the Nazis.

Gérard Depardieu Retirement
Critic Agnès Poirier reflects on the career of French actor Gérard Depardieu who reportedly announced his retirement this week. Depardieu has made 170 films over his career, with roles including the hunchback market gardener in 'Jean de Florette', the poetic if nasally prominent Cyrano de Bergerac and a French musician who marries an American in 'Green Card'.
