In David Gordon Green's (All the Real Girls) new moody thriller Undertow, Jamie Bell plays the elder of two boys who go on the run through the swamps of the American Deep South.
Undertow, certificate 15, is released in selected cinemas on 17 June 2005.
Kings and Queen
Francine Stock and critic Nick Bradshaw examine Arnaud Desplechin's new film Kings and Queen, which French critics have named their French film of the year. The film weaves together two stories that of art dealer Nora, a long-time widow with a young son and musician Ismael, Nora's more recent ex, who has been committed to a psychiatric hospital.
Kings and Queen (Rois et Reine), certificate 15, is showing in selected cinemas now.
Anne Bancroft Tribute
Director Mike Figgis remembers the actress Anne Bancroft, who died this week. Anne Bancroft was famous for playing the seductress Mrs Robinson in The Graduate and she also won an Oscar for her role as Helen Keller's teacher in the 1962 film The Miracle Worker. Mike Figgis worked with Anne Bancroft on his 1993 film Mr Jones.
