Clive Owen in Robert Rodriguez's Sin City
Clive Owen on Sin City, new British film Millions and a tribute to the producer Ismail Merchant.
Sin City

Francine Stock talks to director Robert Rodriguez about his new film Sin City, a big screen adaptation of Frank Millar's graphic novels. Francine also meets the British actor Clive Owen who plays Dwight in the movie, an ultra-cool ex-con caught up in the lawless metropolis. Owen was Oscar nominated this year for his role in Closer.

Sin City
, certificate 18, is released in cinemas on 3 June 2005.
Last Year in Marienbad

Film critic Nigel Floyd examines whether French director Alain Resnais' 1961 experimental film Last Year in Marienbad is pretentious rubbish or a shining example of art cinema.

Last Year in Marienbad, certificate U, is available now on a new DVD.
Millions

Millions is a new family film from the director of Trainspotting Danny Boyle. The film is set in the not too distant future when Britain is preparing to enter the Euro currency. Two boys, whose mother has recently died, find a big bag of money and must spend it in ten days before their pounds cease to be legal currency. The film's writer Frank Cottrell Boyce explains to Francine Stock how he came to write a film for children.

Millions, certicate 12A, is in cinemas now.
filmIsmail Merchant Tribute

The writer of The Remains of the Day Kazuo Ishiguro remembers the producer and director Ismail Merchant who died this week. In partnership with James Ivory, Ismail Merchant's many films included A Room with a View, Howard's End and The Remains of the Day.
