In a special edition of The Film Programme Francine Stock talks to the British cinematographer and director Jack Cardiff. His eighty or so film credits include shooting The Red Shoes and A Matter of Life and Death for Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger, The African Queen for John Huston and an Oscar nomination for directing Sons and Lovers.
Jack Cardiff's 1960 film Sons and Lovers is due to be released on DVD Summer 2005.
