Actor and director Kevin Bacon rose to fame 20 years ago as the teen lead in Footloose, since then his most memorable roles include a psychopath in Sleepers, an astronaut in Apollo 13 and most recently a cop in Clint Eastwood's Mystic River. He talks to Francine Stock about the most challenging role of his career so far as a convicted paedophile in The Woodsman.
The Woodsman, certificate 15, will be released in cinemas on 25 February 2005.
The BAFTAs
Francine Stock attempts to demystify the process behind the British Academy Film Awards with BAFTA Chairman Duncan Kenworthy and Academy voting member Sandra Hebron, who is also the Artistic Director of the London Film Festival.

In the past four years American actor John C. Reilly has emerged from character roles to move up the billing on some big blockbusters, including Gangs of New York, The Aviator and Chicago. He talks to Francine Stock about his new leading role in Criminal, an American version of an Argentinian film about two conmen called Nine Queens.
Criminal, certificate 15, is released in cinemas on 18 February 2005.
