Frances Atkins
The head chef at the Yorke Arms in Yorkshire, where she has held a Michelin star since 2003.
Frances Atkins is one of only a handful of Michelin-starred female chefs in the UK. She began her career at Ilkley’s Box Tree and, besides a 10-year hiatus, has been cooking ever since.
She is currently head chef at the Yorke Arms in Yorkshire, where she has held a Michelin star since 2003. Her restaurant has won many awards including Best UK Restaurant for Game Cooking and the Good Food Guide’s Restaurant of the Year of 2007/8.
Frances’ father was in the Royal Engineers during WWII. He was involved with the design and creation of the Mulberry Harbours which were the landing structures for troops and equipment to alight on and enter Normandy on D-Day. Her menu is a culinary story of her father’s journey through the war.
