Colin McGurran
Colin returns for his third time in the competition. He owns the Winteringham Fields restaurant.
After studying catering at Bournemouth College, Colin took on his first post at the two Michelin star Domaines Haut De Loir in France before relocating to Abu Dhabi to work as banqueting manager for the UAE Royal Family.
Colin returned to England and in 2001 bought the Woolpack Country Inn which he ran as a family venture with his sister. He went on to buy Winteringham Fields at the age of 27, a fine dining restaurant that has won accolades including five AA stars and three AA rosettes.
This is Colin’s third time in the competition and he previously won the starter for the Olympic themed banquet. This year the brief is more personal to him as his grandfather was a stoker on board HMS Tokyo II during the D-Day campaign.
