None of us are "The best"

Once upon a time there was tortoise named Ron. Every day Ron visited the race track to challenge his friends around the bumpy, blue track. Sadly, Ron always came last because he was a tortoise and his friends were Spotter the Cheetah, Roary the Lion, Speedy the Snake and Zoomy the Lizard . Ron's little legs just couldn't move as fast as his friends. This continued every day for 12 years. Every day Ron thought, “This will be the day I win a race” but, day after day, Ron was so far behind that on some days, they forgot he was even racing. Ron didn't even know they had finished the race some days, he was so far back.

Meanwhile, Molly the Mole spent 12 years building a store named 'Speedy Gonzales!' which sold special boots and clothing that made slow animals much, much faster. It took Molly 12 years because she was blind and it is not easy building a shop when you can't see anything.

Ron went to this fantastic shop and bought special boots that make you move at 15,000,000 miles per second. He was very happy because they only cost £1. You see, Molly had spent 12 years building a Pound Shop. Molly did want to be a Doctor but, being blind, she might have cut someones head off!

Ron went back to the race track, excited that he might finally win a race. Ron and his friends lined up as the crowd screamed and yelled. The track seemed as long as the world itself. The flag drifted to the race track and the animals set off. Like a lightning bolt flashing past the Earth the animals exploded off the line, even Ron, with his super speedy rocket boots, taking the lead. The crowd are confused and amazed. Ron is in the lead. Like Ussain Bolt he speeds ahead, leaving the his friends so far behind that he can't even see them. Ron was having the best time of his life. He WON! Finally, after 12 years of losing, he won! He was the WINNER!

Ron was laughing at his friends and shouting, “You lose, I win”. This made his friends cry because it is mean to laugh at your friends. Ron realised that his friends were crying and he felt upset, because he hated to see his friends upset. He told his friends where he had bought the magical boots, because he wanted them to win together and feel happy with him.

Spotter, Speedy, Zoomy and Roary went to Molly the Mole's shop and got themselves a pair of magical boots. They returned to the race track with Ron and lined up to start the race. The stadium was empty.

They held hands and counted down together.

3... 2.... 1.... GO!

The 5 friends exploded off the line together. They hit the finish line in 2.25 seconds, destroying the World Record. Finishing together, they yelled, “We are all better together. We are ALL the best”.
