Episode 4

Total distance travelled: 949 miles

Bin el Ouidane

Travelling south again in week four, the adventurers arrived at Bin el Ouidane, a huge man-made lake nestled in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains.

The astonishingly quiet lake was created in the late 1940s and early 1950s, and provides the majority of electricity for central Morocco through its dam.

Cascades d’Ouzoud

For week four’s Survival Challenge, the adventurers left Bin el Ouidane for the Cascades d’Ouzoud (Ouzoud Waterfall), where the Ahansal River plunges a jaw-dropping 360 feet into the pools below.

In the late afternoon, huge rainbows spread over the rockface (you’ll see one if you watch the adventurers abseil down the waterfall in Episode 4). Ouzoud is also home to Barbary Apes, who drink from the river.
