Headliners with Annie Mac: everything you missed with Wolf Alice, James Blake and Grime Introducing
13 June 2016

Wolf Alice - "It'll be a year in June" "It is June!"
Wolf Alice came to Maida Vale to kick off the first Headliners gig of the year.

They played a full set and chatted to Annie about wanting to get back in the studio, a year after their debut album.

Grime Introducing
Wiley couldn't make it to Headliners, so a last-minute super team of the hottest up-and-coming Grime MCs took his place, with DJ Logan Sama on the decks.

Annie's backed Elf Kid's 'Golden Boy' - he delivered a blinder, with AJ Tracey, Blakie and D7.

James Blake - "I don't release music for myself"
James Blake came to Headliners in the opposite state to Wolf Alice - instead of hungry to get back into the studio, he was relieved to have just finished his new album.

"So much more relaxed - I'd been waiting years for that release moment and when it came, I just sort of didn't know what to do with myself."
"I release the music for other people, I don't really release it for myself. I write it for myself."
