Lesson 7
Getting married - the groom

Mel: Things that we had to run through were: the car for the day, to pick Sam up, the venue, we've got the photographers, we've booked a disco for the evening, flowers, we had to talk to the florists...

I'm probably not going to remember everything, because Sam always organises it! But there's the cars, the photographer, there's booking the venue, there's florists, the invitations, there's sorting out who to invite, so discussions about that...

There's probably more things that I've forgotten, but I'm sure Sam will remind me in due course.

Traditionally it used to be the parents of the bride that used to actually pay for the wedding. I don't think that really happens now.

I think couples tend to prefer the independence of being able to organise the wedding for themselves. We certainly wouldn't have expected Sam's family or my family to actually pay for the wedding.
