Lesson 1
First day at a new school

Jessica: Well, actually, on my first day I woke up and I was all... just relaxed in my house and we got a phone call saying you can start whenever, so I packed my bag and just came, so it was kind of, like a surprise, really, so I didn't have time to panic about it.

Once I walked into the school I was... don't think I ever stopped shaking, I was just really nervous. I didn't know anybody, so I was just really scared all day but, yeah, quickly I made new friends.

Well, my first lesson... I was in a maths lesson and I sat down and I was next to a girl called Tasrin and, yes, straightaway she just asked me:

'Have you got a pen?' And after that we just started talking and, yeah, we're just really good friends now.

My advice for people that are starting new schools is just be very friendly and very smiley and I just think people are gonna notice that you're a nice person and they're just gonna want to be friends with you.
