Lesson 5
Getting engaged

Rebecca: Martin proposed to me the day before my birthday. It was a complete surprise, I had no idea he was going to ask me. I wanted him to ask me I didn't want to have to ask him. I'm an old-fashioned kind of girl - I'd rather he did the asking.

The first person that I told was my best friend Lizzie. We were in a pub having a drink and she said you're smiling an awful lot today you look really happy. I said: "Yeah, Martin proposed".

Martin doesn't want to wear a ring, he's not a big fan of jewellery. He says he'll wear a wedding ring but only because he has to.

But no, I like my ring! It's a platinum band with 3 diamonds in a row to represent the past the present and the future.

Yes! It wasn't the most expensive one I could find but it was quite pricey. But it was a ring that really spoke out to me and I said: "Yeah, I really do like that".
