Neco Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) na examination wey dey conducted for candidates for di end of dia secondary school education.

Di 2025 SSCE dey conducted from Monday 16th June to Friday 25th July, 2025, while di marking exercise take place from Thursday 14th to Sunday 31st August, 2025.

"Number of candidates wey dey involved for various forms of malpractice for 2025 na 3,878, as against 10,094 for 2024, wey show reduction of 61.58 per cent," Neco registrar tok.

Neco 2025 results breakdown

According to Neco, dem record about 60 per cent pass rate wit students wey get five credits and above.

Number of candidates wey register for di examination na 1,367,210 wey represent 685,514 males and 681,696 females.

Di number of candidates wey sit for di exam na 1,358,339 wey represent 680,292 males and 678,047 females.

Candidates wey get five credits and above, including Mathematics and English na 818,492 wey represent 60.26 per cent.

Number of candidates wit five credits and above, irrespective of Mathematics and English na 1,144,496 wey represent 84.26 per cent.

Special needs candidates

Di number of candidates wit special needs na 1,622. Out of dem na 586 males and 355 female candidates wey get hearing impairment.

Candidates wit visual impairment na 111 male and 80 female, candidates wit albinism na 47 males and 53 females.

For candidates wit autism, na 62 male and 33 females; 110 candidates get low vision while candidates wit dermatoglyphia na 89 males and 96 females.

Exam malpractice and results withheld

Neco say during di conduct of di 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination

(SSCE), dem find 38 schools wey dey involved for cheating.

Di exam body say dem fit blacklist some supervisors - three supervisors for Rivers, one for Niger, three for FCT, one for Kano and one for Osun state.

"Nine supervisors dey recommended for blacklisting sake of poor supervision, aiding and abetting, lateness, unruly behaviour, assault, and insubordination."

Dem say dem hold results of eight schools for Lamorde Local Govment, Adamawa State wia dem dey affected by communal clash wey result to how dem no write Neco examination from 7 to 25 July, 2025.

"Total of thirteen (13) subjects and twenty-nine (29) papers dey involved. We don start tok wit di state govment wit view to conduct di examinations for di affected schools."
