After a night of howling winds and pounding rain, Dorset braces for disruptionpublished at 07:42 GMT 27 January

I live right on the edge of the amber storm warning area for Storm Chandra, but at times last night it felt like we were in the middle of it.
The rain was pounding on the windows of the house and the wind was howling - it woke me up several times throughout the night.
This morning, there is a brief respite from the rain - it’s due to be heavy again (see our latest forecast here), just in time for the school run - but the wind is still gusting.
The trains from here up through Hampshire to London are already seeing delays and cancellations. It’s going to be a day of disruption.
