Babar Vaqas has completed a degree in medicine at Oxford University. Babar, from Gloucester, was born in Britain and follows in the footsteps of his Pakistani-born parents, both of whom studied degrees taken in their native land. His mother, Nasreen Akhtar, is senior librarian with Gloucestershire County Council and his father, Munawar Hussain, holds a senior post with Bristol City Council. He worked in New York and China after winning a study award from the British Medical Council before taking up a position at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. » See 'The Pakistani Community' |
