Morning bloggers. Crisp, foggy and slippery here. School run complete and main preoccupation (other than avoiding the ice and infernal racket on other radio stations preferred by the younger travellers) was steering around the pedestrians. The roads are clear-ish but the pavements are a skating rink so everyone is walking on the roads. This makes perfect sense if you're walking and no sense at all if you are a driver-it's like a slalom out there. We should do songs for THE BIG FREEZE I think don't you (rhetorical)?

Thanks for the inaugeration day tunes and wished we'd have got round to singing 'Barack Obama' to the tune of 'Son of My Father' as suggested by Jeffrey of Maidenhead. That would have been good!

Today we talk again of World Book Night with top novelist Tracy Chevalier, she of 'Girl With a Pearl Earring' fame. She is Chairman of the Society of Authors too so who better to explain? The day in question is April 23rd- St George's day and, more to the point, Shakespeare's birth and death day and the organisers want 20,000 volunteers to distribute 20 books each. There is a top range of titles from RL Stevenson, Victoria Hislop and Ian Fleming and my favourite which is The Knife of Letting Go by Patrick Ness. All will be discussed from 6.

Have a sturdy and heroic Tuesday, see you after 5.
