I think EE show freecycle/freegle - it is a scheme that many places have where you join an email group and if you really need something e.g. a tv, you can send a 'wanted' email and if anyone wants to give away an old tv or an old bed or whatever then they send an 'offerd' email. I have given away clothes and shoes that way.
