Photo spoilers: Is the cat out of the bag?

i dont like this. phil is acting like he doesnt give a damn about shirley. he's celebrating ben getting his charges dropped. he's supposed to care about her????? yeah right.

I fully understand WHY Phil is doing it. I just don't agree it is the right course of action. Phil, Grant and Sam were all raised by Peggy with her mantra that it is "All about the Faaaamily". Plus, Ben is the only child Phil gets to see since he lost Louise. Phil is just doing what he has been raised to do.... keep the family together. In his mind, he probably thinks it will all blow over soon and he can get back with Shirley, but thinking has never been his strong point. He does care about Shirley, but sadly he cares about the family more.

I mean the celebrating bens fredome. He should be lucky ben hasnt been put back in prison already

i hope nothing happens to Phil cause the only reason i watch Eastenders is cause of Phil and Grant and Phil is the only 1 left and i hope there not planing on replacing Phil with stupid derek branning he look's like a pig look at his face and ears for god sake and when is grant coming back for a visit

Yeah, that is true - what should be right for Phil is "Ben killed someone, and on top of that, this someone was Shirley's best friend, he has to pay for this", but what he thinks is right is "Ben is my son, and I will protect him no matter what", plus the sense of guilt as well, Phil know he has been a rubbish father to Ben.

yeah i get all that lol but theres no need to be so smug and happy about bens freedom knowing what hes done

Monalisa - well, he REALLY doesn't want Ben to go back to prison. When Ben did go to prison, Phil was devastated and did something as really stupid as starting taking drugs. He lost Louise at the same time, and his world crushed. He doesn't even care what Ben did - he just doesn't want him to go to prison and he is relieved that so far Ben is with him.

This is wrong yes! but who wouldn't try to protect their kid even know it's wrong?

Eyezkandi - no, it's just wrong,(if you put it this way) without any "but"s. And Phil is so stupid! How is that not ok for the kid to prefer dancing to the boxing, but ok to kill someone? And Heather was someone's parent too BTW!

he's gonna have to let Ben go sometime! He will grow up lol

i don't like this Ben he too....strange! :/ i prefered the original Ben, the Ben that use to like performing for peolple, soppy movies and who loved to dance to Lady Gaga, and who use to talk to Heather about anything!

I agree, old Ben was always a victim to everyone, always in tears - too much. And he changed completely - and not for the better. Even though I understand why they hired different actor to play him - can you imagine old Ben lashing out at everyone all the time, sending his own father to prison or killing someone? And I can't figure out - how old is he? Before prison he was a young kid, now he looks like he is in his late teens?
