BH2: LOSING HERRICK

Once again, thankyou team.



I really loved Herrick...such a scary villain mainly because he didn't look scary at all. He had quite a cherubic face and some brilliant one-liners. Don't think there would have been much chance of him ever getting dull....but Toby knows best. Don't think the new guy is going to make me giggle though...still, we'll see.



I wondered if the team were surprised at how popular he became with the fans

Yes Toby knows best but still don't expect us not to be extremely grumpy about losing our Herrick and Seth :-( but we'll forgive you if you give us a good series 2 :-)

How intriguing(?) I love Matt's line about the villains coming from unexpected places. I absolutely loved Herrick but yeah Toby probably does know best but what an act to follow! God I can't wait for the next series.

How is His Royal Tobyness (with all his brilliance) going to get a better villain that H. (no pressure then, Tobes)

I'm sure i've said it before but I'm convinced that new villain will be female and maybe aloof and alluring (note to self: don't do blogging when had more than 2 glasses of red wine) anyway I'm sure you're all on BBC1 now so adieu or french equivalent!

Nah its gonna be that fella on the phone at the end of episode 6 thats why "donald" got his own little bit on the "they're back" video he's obviously the final most important character in the top 5...also think Nina will have much bigger part in this series. Eugh I'm rambling its been a long day lol.

Yeah eagle's right, it's got to be the guy on the phone, or the guy on the other end of the phone. Although do you get the feeling that the man on the phone is a pre-curser to the really big bad guy?

I'm so excited that's it's going to bbc1 too, now EVERYONE can see how good it is.

So happy for them for it being on bbc1 (Oh to be Aidan right about now - this time last year practically unheard of now he has a bbc2 AND a bbc1 show lucky lucky boy) lots of people I know watched it last night - first text I got when I finished work last night "just saw that vampire thing you were on about its well funny and yeah the irish guy is really hot!" ok so i don't have the most eloquent friends lol but it seems to have gone down well so yay :-D



Its wierd I kinda feel proud of it lol I know its not mine to be proud of but do you not feel a bit like that because we've been with it from the start?

I think Toby said a while ago that the new villain will be Professor Jaggart (or whatever) the person at the other end of the phone that Donald was talking to. Still think it's a woman though.

My next neighbours finally watched it last night after all the post-it notes I left on their fridge. They liked it but I was expecting texts straight after going something like "Oh my God this is so fanatastic!" but it didn't happen.

drivingsusan...I think you've got something there re future villian alluring female..I'm sure I remember Toby saying either on some interview or blog that there will be a love tryst set up in BH2 which could snare our heroes....even if I've dreamt that it would be a great story line although as I've said before..Toby please...when are they going to find love?

SuperOchre...thanks for website..interesting about ratings...apart from the fact that BBC ( along with all other companies) set up sample groups for ratings info, I don't really know how they gather a true picture...like most people I know I rarely watch any programme when it's actually broadcast...I record it or watch it on line via IPlayer of the like...are these taken into account for ratings?..if not then BBc not gathering a full picture. This may explain why they are claiming poor ratings for Desperate Romantics deapite the fact that many twenty somethings I know are watching it online.

Heh vampfan...surely love for the beautiful one can go beyond fantasy world discussions?....don't know about you but I find that real world/fantasy world can combine ...maybe I'm just lucky that real world Man is laid back and content with real/fantasy life.

Oh..and yeh before I go to eat meal cooked by Man...I agree that Nina will be significant in BH2 ....I still think that the Prof mentioned in final scene will need someone to ensnare our fab 3....and I still think some sort of femme fatale will be involved ..perhaps she'll be made to collude with the Prof for some reason....perhaps a new 'race' is envisaged by the Prof which needs something taken from supernaturals ..I'll leave the 'something' to your imagination but I think you know what I mean....

I love torchwood but I can see why some people don't - but then I was never huge on doctor who - I liked it and watched it now and then but I never got absolutely crazy about it until I got into Torchwood so I think I got into them in the wrong order lol but I like Jack more in Torchwood than in doctor who - he seems completely different I guess its because he's so naughty etc in torchwood then when he's on at 7 o clock he has to behave himself lol

What was the girl in Torchwood called? she has the most amazing accent....could have listened to her talk all day.

Russel T. Davies is going to America so it's highly unlikely that he'll get his hands on BH lol.

I would venture to guess that the writers would not be so inept as to kill off one of the main characters (unless of course they have some way of bringing the character back in a plausible way). Barring that, Nina would be the obvious choice to kill off, which makes me think she will NOT be. I'm guessing it will be Owen. Something along the lines of the "villains" do not want the information he has to go publice. They kill him off, set it up as a suicide. Done. Or maybe not, but I still say stick a fork in him, he's done.

C I know hes going to America but its kinda a given that there'll be another series of torchwood (haven't decided how I feel about it yet lol what with 3 of the main characters dead but hey how bad can more John Barrowman be? :-D) so he'll be back at some point! And well Toby wrote an episode of Torchwood so who knows...



I liked Tosh shame she's gone :-( would've liked to have seen her and Owen finally get together although I prefer Gwen - as a character not as a person lol feel so sorry for Rhys :-( can't say I blame her though - I mean I'm no cheat never have never would but I'm thinking captain jack comes knocking at your door and you make an exception lol

On you have been watching (tonight 10pm channel 4) they're talking about desperate romantics now in a way - yay because it kind of means the show has made it lol charlie brooker is great I normally love the show but its basically a big **** take out of the chosen program so I dunno if Im going to like listening to our Aidan being slagged off...VF be warned stay away from C4 tonight lol

Just returned homeand watched reording of tonight's Desperate Romantics....gggrrrrrrhhhhh! Just as well that Man had some luscious lasy to ogle or I'd have been in trouble over noises being made about the beautiful one and his ...lusciousness... BBC not stupid. They'd obviously spotted AT as future hot totty and set scenes for him accordingly. It's true that reviews are not good but they miss the point.the book, and the show, is not about art..it's about gorgeous, raunchy young men and one in particular..let's have more I say!



Oh and yes..glad that the problem with videoclips seems to have been resolved

The thing is there are plenty of boring (in my opinion), well behaved, educational historical artsy programs - if thats what people want then fine watch them instead - but desperate romantics is new its fresh and yeah its raunchy but hey if you wanna get young people interested in art and history then the BBC know damn well that thats the way to do it lol

i LOVE You Have Been Watching. Charlie Brooker is hilarious. and i loved the bit on desperate romantics because it told me what had happened, because i dont watch it. i tried to and just couldnt get into it.
