A round-up of BBC announcements and press releases and blogs, plus some highlights from our TV, radio and online output last week.

Annual Report

On Tuesday 12 July we published the BBC's Annual Report and Accounts for 2015/16.

Awards

BBC Drama have 22 nominations in the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards with 12 nominations for The Night Manager, six nominations for Sherlock: The Abominable Bride, three nominations for Luther and one for War & Peace.

Announcements and blogs

Drama

The Secret Agent Media Pack was published this week. In addition, a new two-part drama Man In An Orange Shirt has been commissioned for BBC One. By best-selling British novelist Patrick Gale the piece tells two gay love stories, 60 years apart - stories linked by family, and by a painting that holds a secret that echoes down the generations.

Comedy

BBC Three have commissioned a new series that will see British comedians list their Top Tens on a subject of their choosing. In collaboration with Mixital, BBC Three will offer fans the opportunity to add their own jokes and have them showcased by BBC Three. The first BBC Three Top Ten is from Holly Walsh with the Top Ten Reasons To Swipe Left - available to watch and embed now.

Entertainment

It was confirmed that Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will present another series of the BAFTA award-winning Strictly Come Dancingon BBC One. It was also announced that the audition stages of a new BBC talent show series featuring Gary Barlow will be recorded in Salford.

Factual

A new BBC Two documentary, fronted by Jeremy Paxman, will follow how the mystery of Van Gogh’s ear was solved. It was also confirmed that Who Do You Think You Are will return to BBC One for a 13th series.

Music

A new BBC iWonder guide has been published detailing the health benefits of playing a musical instrument.

Elsewhere, in a brand new set of shorts from BBC Music, available exclusively on iPlayer, The Vamps, Craig David and Jess Glynne each give lucky fans an experience many only dream about - their very own live performance.

Radio

BBC Radio 3 and Southbank Centre celebrate seven decades of pioneering music and culture this autumn with Sound Frontiers. Radio 3 also announced that applications are open for the network's industry conference exploring greater diversity in classical music composition.

BBC Radio 2 announced that American jazz musician Gregory Porter will perform a live concert exclusively for the In Concert series on Thursday 21 July.

Gwyneth Williams, Controller Radio 4 & Radio 4 Extra, has commissioned a series of special programmes to reflect and examine the political and cultural landscape in Britain after the Brexit vote, and what happened in the lead-up to the EU referendum.

At Radio 1 Annie Mac announced that an exclusive Radio 1 dance family line-up consisting of herself, Pete Tong, Danny Howard, B. Traits, George Fitzgerald, Heidi, MistaJam, Toddla T, DJ Target and Kolsch who will perform at the station’s legendary Friday night party at Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel in Playa d'en Bossa on Friday 5 August.

Regional

To tie in with the Annual Report, BBC Wales revealed record levels of network television production in Wales in its Management Review for 2015/16.
