Time phrases

To make your opinions about media, as well as other topics, a little more impressive you can add time phrases to the adjectives. Remember the Time–Manner–Place word order rule.

ab und zu– now and again

immer– always

jeden Tag– every day

manchmal– sometimes

meistens– mostly

nach der Schule– after school

nie– never

oft– often

zweimal pro Woche– twice a week

Intensifiers

Intensifers are words that can be added in front of an adjective to make the meaning even stronger or more powerful.

Listen to these examples of intensifiers:

besonders– especially

echt– truly, really

nicht so– not so

relativ– relatively

sehr– very

total– totally

unglaublich– unbelievable

unheimlich– incredibly

wirklich– really

ziemlich– quite

zu– too

Phrases

Ich finde Zeitungen immer so langweilig aber Zeitschriften sind echt interessant.– I always find newspapers so boring but magazines are really interesting.

Er hat jeden Tag die Zeitung gelesen - er hat das unheimlich wichtig gefunden.– He read the newspaper every day - he found it incredibly important.

In der Zukunft wird er nach der Schule lesen - es ist besonders entspannend.– In the future he will read after school - it is especially relaxing.
