Thames Travelling This 'Walk Through Time' is part of the BBC's Natural History series this Autumn. We have plotted a walk along the Thames to show you how this part of Berkshire looked millions of years ago.

More info: This walk follows the Thames from Reading to Sonning and will show you the outcrops of chalk that exist in the area as well as how the river and its wildlife has changed from that of millions of years ago. It starts at King's Meadow in Reading and ends at St Andrew's Church, Sonning.
Getting there: By bus/train: The bus and train station is a 10-minute walk from King's Meadow car park. At the end of the walk, there is a bus stop, check Part 11 for times. By car: Drive to King's Meadow Car Park where it costs £2.70 to park for up to five hours.
Walk conditions The path is flat and in good condition - mainly either light gravel or tarmac. But part of the path runs through meadows which act as a floodplain for the Thames. So beware after heavy rain.Health and Safety information
BBC Radio Berkshire broadcast a special programme on Saturday 16th October LIVE from the walk.
Over 80 Radio Berkshire listeners joined The Andrew Peach programme which came from King's Meadow.
Then they walked the walk with Professor Bruce Sellwood of Reading University and BBC Radio Berkshire's Steve Madden, Amanda Sutton and Jo Parry.
