Ariel’s international supplement
27 April 2004
If One BBC means anything, it has to mean One BBC around the world.
For the first time, the organisation that has pledged itself to be the world’s most creative, has made a commitment to its international people that working for the BBC will be a positive and rewarding experience, wherever they are in the world.
Across more than 1,700 people working in nearly 100 countries, conditions of service for locally-employed staff are now being reviewed, and communications improved, both top priorities for people who fed ideas back through international Making it Happen events.

By the summer, the Upfront course and the BBC Leadership Programme will be tailored to the needs of colleagues outside the UK and new feedback and development opportunities are to be rolled out everywhere.
The first truly Global People Database is beginning to take shape. And improvements in technology will be introduced in the coming months.
All these changes have been driven by what BBC people around the world have said.
And this is just the start.
In a special supplement, published on 27 April 2004, Ariel reports on what's new and focuses on our international people across the globe.
