Ariel’s Africa supplement
14 June 2005
Africa is on the agenda. Presidents, prime ministers and sainted pop stars have seen to that – and the BBC has caught the mood this summer with days and seasons given over to special programmes across its outlets.
In Africa itself, the BBC has a network of journalists covering the news year by year.
They will be reporting from this intriguing continent whether or not the world’s attention remains focused there.
In this special Africa supplement, Ariel meets some of the people who represent the BBC in Africa, where working may carry risks in areas of civil war or disease but where the emergence of new regimes is starting to bring benefit.
It’s a big job and the BBC’s global reputation for truth and honesty depends on it being done well.
Teamwork across a continent
