Don't panic! English follows the Gaelic!

Is mise Deborah.

'S ann à San Francisco Bay Area, Pleasant Hill, California a tha mi. Tha mi ag ionnsachadh Gàidhlig tro leabhraichean Teach Yourself Gaelic agus Gaelic 4 Parents agus diofar stuthan ionnsachaidh eile.

Tha mi gu mòr airson cànan mo shinnsirean ionnsachadh agus tha mi cuideachd airson an cànan ionnsachadh do mo chiad ogha a tha gu bhith air a bhreith/breith sa Mhàrt 2010. Tha mi airson 's gum bi Gàidhlig aca bho thùs. 'S e Gòrdanach a tha nam athair agus Stiùbhartach a tha nam mhàthair.

Chaidh ar togail gus a bhith pròiseil mu ar n-eachdraidh Albannach agus nar n-òige bhiodh an teaghlach an-còmhnaidh a' dol gu Geamannan Gàidhealach. Tha mi airson an cànan, co-dhiù pàirt dhith, ionnsachadh do m' oghaichean.

B'fheàrr leam gu robh prògraman telebhisean BBC ALBA agus tuilleadh phrògraman rèidio ri fhaighinn ann an Ameireaga. Aig an ìre-sa chan eil buidhnean còmhraidh sam bith a' dol anns am faighinn cothrom mo sgilean ùra a chur an gnìomh, ach tha mi a' cumail orm ag ionnsachadh.

Tapadh leibh,

Deborah Gantt

My name is Deborah.

I am from San Francisco Bay Area, Pleasant Hill, California.

I am learning Gaelic via Teach Yourself Gaelic books, Gaelic 4 Parents and other learning materials.

I want very much to learn the language of my ancestors and want to teach my first grandchild due March 2010 to speak gaelic from the very start. My father is a Gordon and my mother is Stewart.

We have been taught to be proud of our Scottish history and always attended Scottish Games as part of our childhood, I want to pass the language, or at least some of it to my grandchildren.

I wish that BBC ALBA TV programs and more radio was available in America, currently there are no conversation groups for me to practice my newly learned skills but I keep studying.

Thanks you,

Deborah Gantt
