Gretna submit groundshare plans

Gretna's Raydale Park is not up to SPL standards
Gretna FC has submitted an application to groundshare with Motherwell if the club wins promotion this year.

The Black and Whites are currently top of the first division but their Raydale Park ground does not meet SPL criteria.

Fir Park would become Gretna's temporary home while work to transform Raydale into a modern 6,000-seater stadium takes place.

The Dumfries and Galloway side could clinch promotion by 7 April if it wins its next three matches.

Chief Executive Graeme Muir confirmed that the groundshare plans had been lodged.

"We have completed all the relevant paperwork and the proposals have been signed and sent to the SPL," he said.

"The club is now totally focussed on achieving a historic third successive promotion that would take us into the top-flight of Scottish football."
