A man arrested by North Yorkshire police in connection with a fire in which two jockeys died has been released from bail. The 37-year-old man was detained after the fire at flats in Norton, near Malton, on 5 September, in which Jamie Kyne, 18, and Jan Wilson, 19, died. North Yorkshire Police said the man had now been released from police bail. The force said the fire was still being treated as suspicious and officers continued to work on the case. Jockeys celebrating There were thought to be six people in the flats in Buckrose Court when the fire broke out. Earlier the jockeys had been celebrating after receiving their "pool money" from a local trainer, witnesses said. Apprentice jockeys Mr Kyne, from Galway, Ireland, and Miss Wilson, from Forfar, Scotland, were on the second floor. A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "The man arrested in connection with the suspicious fire at flats in Buckrose Court, Norton, Malton, has been released from bail. "A team of detectives continue to work on the case and the fire is still being treated as suspicious. "Police are still waiting for the results of forensic testing and toxicology reports."
