The leader of South Hams District Council has lost his seat in a shock result at the count in Totnes.

Conservative Richard Younge was ousted by Liberal Democrat Keith Baldry in the Yealmpton Ward.

But the Conservatives remain in control with the same number of seats, 28, as they had four years ago.

The Lib Dems gained two seats while Labour lost two, so the council is now made up of 28 Tory seats, three Independents and nine Lib Dems.
