Flood victims to get counselling
Floods in Pangbourne. Taken by Phill Nederend
About 400 homes were flooded in Pangbourne (by Phill Nederend)
Victims of the summer floods who were left traumatised by the disaster are being offered free counselling.

More than 2,500 properties in the west Berkshire area were affected by the deluge in July.

The council will use the remaining cash from the government's 10m Flood Recovery Grant to fund the service.

The move was announced after recommendations from GPs who said that some of those affected would benefit from one-to-one sessions.

Four group sessions will also be held in Thatcham on 13 December.

They will be held at the Catholic Hall in Bath Road between 1415 and 2000 GMT.
