Residents in West Berkshire are being invited to give their views on the aftermath of the July floods including the council's response to the deluge.

A special review examining the impact of the flooding on individuals and communities and the recovery operation will be held on Tuesday, 6 November.

Proposals on how to deal with flooding in the future will also be discussed.

The floods affected more than 2,500 properties in the area. The talks will be held at Newbury's council offices.

Two sessions will be held at 1530 and 1730 GMT in Market Street.

Brian Bedwell, chairman of the council's overview and scrutiny commission, said: "We would very much like to hear about local people's experiences, positive or otherwise during this terrible time.

"Reviewing events such as this is an important part of the overview and scrutiny remit, as feedback is vital in helping to build intelligence and improve the district's response to future events."
