US rap star Kanye West was among the performers at the V Festival, which took place at Staffordshire's Weston Park and Hylands Park in Essex at the weekend. The Foo Fighters played four sets over the two days - headlining Hylands Park on Saturday and Weston Park on Sunday as well as secret acoustic afternoon gigs at each. The Killers co-headlined the festival, playing hits from their Sam's Town album. Frontman Brandon Flowers said the band would not return to the UK for some time. Pink was among the other stars at the event, which attracted an estimated 160,000 music fans to its dual sites. Pete Doherty took to the Channel 4 stage to perform a set with his band Babyshambles, drawing a large crowd despite inclement weather. Flamboyant pop star Mika entertained the crowds with his hit single Big Girl (You Are Beautiful). Hollywood actress Juliette Lewis played at the festival in her guise as rock star with band The Licks. Scottish singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini took to the main stage at the event, which also featured Lily Allen, Primal Scream and Basement Jaxx. Sophie Ellis Bextor brought her disco hits to the festival - and later dressed as a lollipop lady to join Mika for his closing number, Lollipop. Former Sugababe Mutya Buena performed at the festival for the first time in her own right, playing songs from her new album and old Sugababes hit Ugly.
