The festival started with a bang on Thursday night at the festival eve party. Even the main stage had a more relaxed atmosphere than most UK music festivals. This year's Fuji Rockers endured searing heat, with many seeking relief in a nearby creek. There were numerous stages at Fuji Rock, the main ones being the Green Stage and White Stage (White Stage seen here). Music fans moved between stages on picturesque mountain pathways. The music played until the small hours, before revellers returned to tents, cars or hotels. Two small stages were set atop a nearby mountain, only accessible by cable car. The main Green Stage attracted huge crowds, and played host to the likes of The Cure and Beastie Boys. The music was enjoyed by both older and younger fans. Such is the importance of recycling at Fuji Rock that teams of bin monitors helped people sort their rubbish.
