Recruitment agencies in Jersey have raised concerns about the effect new employment laws could have on the island's temporary workers. Under the new rules, temporary workers will get the same rights as those in full time employment.
But agencies say it could make the system much less flexible with new rules on holidays, unfair dismissal and a minimum wage of �5.08p an hour
Barring union legal challenges, the new law will come into force on 1 April.
Agencies say it will be more bureaucratic for them and could mean workers are unable to sign up to several agencies at once.
The Employment and Social Security Committee says temporary workers should have the same rights as others, and says the flexibility of the arrangement can be maintained depending on individual contracts.
