Union warns workers on new laws
New employment laws are being opposed by trade union officials in Jersey.

The Transport and General Workers' Union (T&G), which represents about 6,000 people in Jersey, says the States-proposed laws are open to abuse.

It says the reforms undermine rights on redundancy pay, discrimination and protection of pay, as well as terms and conditions if jobs are transferred.

Shop stewards, who have been meeting T&G officials, are to meet government officials within the next fortnight.
