Green light for new Channel ferry
HD ferry
The ferry will be running twice a day to France from Jersey
New ferry operator HD Ferries has been given its licence to take cars and passengers from Jersey and Guernsey to St Malo in France.

Its first sailing is from Jersey at 0715 GMT on Thursday, three months since the new service was announced.

A twice-daily service from Jersey and one crossing a day from Guernsey will run from March to September.

The service will add competition for Condor which has held the monopoly on the route since Emeraude pulled out.
