New catamaran gets 6,000 bookings
HD ferry
The ferry will be competing with Condor
A new car ferry company due to start taking Channel Island passengers to St Malo next month has already taken 6,000 bookings for its car ferry service.

HD Ferries is launching its catamaran service on 15 March and will end Condor Ferries' monopoly on the route.

A twice daily service from Jersey and one crossing a day from Guernsey will run from March to September.

Jersey authorities encouraged other firms to start a rival to Condor after Emeraude pulled out last year.
