Catamaran to make island visits
HD ferry
The ferry will be competing with Condor
People in the Channel Islands will have a chance to look around a new car ferry which is due to start running services to France.

HD Ferries hopes to start the daily sailings to St Malo on 15 March. But before then the boat, the HD1, will stop off in both Guernsey and Jersey.

The vessel is to visit Guernsey next Tuesday and Jersey on Wednesday.

The service will add competition on the St Malo route and end the monopoly held by Condor.

Condor has held the monopoly since Emeraude pulled out of the Island.

A twice daily service from Jersey and one crossing a day from Guernsey will run from March to September.

The company has taken 6,000 bookings for its car ferry service already.
