Waterfront cable car proposed
Waterfront
Cable cars linked Snow Hill to Fort Regent until the 1980s
People could travel by cable car between Jersey's waterfront and a casino at Fort Regent under new plans.

A report by the University of Salford says a luxurious cable car system would make it easier to get between the two sites.

It says it would also prove an island attraction.

The report says the cable car would be funded by the casino entertainment complex.

National Lottery

It is also likely to increase jobs and would bring more business tourists into the island.

Until the 1980s, there were cable cars linking Snow Hill to Fort Regent.

A move to bring the National Lottery to Jersey to generate more money in taxes and for good causes is also suggested by the report.

It says if adults choose to spend their own time and money gambling, the States should not stop them.
