Don't keep keys, including window keys, in or adjacent to their locks. Keep them well hidden, upstairs, or in an alarm-protected area.

You could also leave a spare set with a trusted neighbour or better still take keys with you and keep them on you!

If you have moved into a new house consider changing the back and front door locks - other people may still have keys that fit.
