'Everybody liked him'

"I was really shocked. I couldn't believe it," said unemployed Billy Gibson, 37, of Pumpherston, Livingston.

"Everybody liked him � he was dead down-to-earth. He was just a normal person - you wouldn't think he was an MP.

"My mum met him twice and said it was just like talking to somebody in the street or in the pub. He will be missed."
