Stunning footage has been released of Niagara Falls covered in snow and ice after a period of extreme cold weather.

Despite appearances, the water hasn't fully frozen. It continues to move beneath the sheet of ice.

Canada and the US has been experiencing a period of bitter cold thanks to an Arctic airmass. That's the same one that forced President Trump's inauguration and parade to be held inside - the first time time this had happened since 1985.

It is expected to become warmer by Monday for parts of North America, but Niagara Falls may still see more snowfall before then.
