As we keep being told, one of the rules of Not Very Big Brother is that if ratings are flagging, we can change the rules. And this weekend saw a first in our seven week history!

No sooner had the Welsh rare bit Littla been unanimously voted out, than viewers had the chance to vote an evicted housemate back in and, after a not very surprising public vote at all, Little John is back!

On hearing that she would be leaving the house, Littla smiled and tried not to cry. Hooray, who was responsible for her nomination, looked visibly upset. With such convincing acting skills, surely it's only a matter of time until we see him as 'upset relative of victim of freak pole vaulting accident' in Casualty.

Littla then went to the bedroom and told Nosh and Stuff, "Excuse me, can I just say, my prediction was right!"

Well, excuse me, but knowing that she was going to be evicted took about as much psychic power as a banana. Even the chickens could have foreseen that one!

Littla, who has done for Wales what Edwina Currie did for eggs, left the house to boos and jeers and that was just from those she was leaving behind.

And if the eviction of Littla was about as surprising as Christmas Day being in December, then Little John being voted back into the house was equally as shocking.

But back he is and oh how we cheered! Realising the error of their ways in voting out the only interesting character of this tiny series, the little legend was hauled out from the back of the drawer where we had stuffed him and returned to the house - to the amazement and plastic delight of the others.

They were so shocked that they all slipped out of character for the briefest of moments. Camera-on didn’t mention South Africa for a full two minutes, Stuff let some dust settle, Ray was sober, Nosh tried to sink into the background and Hott said something interesting.

But so far Little John’s promises to stir things up have fallen by the wayside. But remember, you can’t make interesting viewing out of a pig’s ear - or something like that anyway!

Knowing what he knows, but with them not knowing whether he knows what he says he knows or not, will he know what to do? And do we actually care?

Not Very Big Brother will get back to you.
