Macbeth meets three witches who make a prediction
Tell him one day he’ll be king (of all of Scotland!)
Lady Macbeth, (who?) his partner in crime

But then they’re planning on stabbing him while he sleeps
Immediately after the deed is done
Macbeth freaks out, his dagger streaming with blood
Lady Macbeth, well, she keeps it together
Covers up the murder and plants the weapon (yeah!)
Macbeth panics, the King’s servants might talk
So he kills them both, to be quite sure
I murdered, I killed to take the kings crown
Now I struggle with the guilt that weighs the thing down
Hubble and bubble their cauldron brews
I should have never listened to the witches’ crew
I murdered, I killed to take the kings crown
Now I struggle with the guilt that weighs the thing down
Hubble and bubble, their cauldron brews
I should have never ever listened to the witches’ crew
Macbeth is crowned the King of Scots
But around about then he starts to lose the plot (what?)
Taking out his rivals one by one
He kills his friend Banquo (oh no what has he done?!) (huh?)
At a feast Banquo’s ghost appears
To torture Macbeth and play on his fears
Scared, to the witches Macbeth returns
But they’re weird and they're creepy, and it makes him worseHe then kills his rival Macduff’s family
Macbeth’s gone mad and his wife’s as bad as him
She sleepwalks and acts out their crime (ha!)
Can’t wash the blood off her hands so she’s ending her life
I murdered, I killed to take the King's crown
Now I struggle with the guilt that weighs the thing down
Hubble and bubble their cauldron brewsI should have never ever listened to the witches’ crew
I murdered, I killed to take the King's crown
Now I struggle with the guilt that weighs the thing down
Hubble and bubble, their cauldron brews

Macduff is back for revenge
With Malcolm, the son of King Duncan
Remember, he's dead! (huh?)
They brought an army
Ready to fight, Macbeth take his crown and end his life (yes!)
Macbeth stays chilled, thinks he can't be killed
He's like "The witches told me some stuff (ha!)
I can't be harmed by any man of woman born
So you might as well both give up!
But the tricky little witches forgot to mention
Macduff was born by caesarian section
He takes his weapon, chops off Macbeth's head
His brutal reign ends (yes!)
The King is dead!

Video summary
An animated version of William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” in a retelling of the classic play set to modern music.
Macbeth is a successful general in King Duncan’s Scottish army.
After victory in a battle, he and his best friend Banquo meet three witches who prophesise that Macbeth will become king.
When Lady Macbeth hears of this she persuades her husband to murder Duncan and seize power.
The Macbeths carry out the deed, but it cannot end there.
Banquo knows too much and must be disposed of too.
Even though Macbeth is now king, he has a very troubled conscience.
The witches have cunningly misled Macbeth and, in order to retain his power, the killings have to continue; Macbeth becomes a tyrant.
The witches continue to mislead Macbeth with ambiguous predictions.
The Macbeths come to a bad end when Macduff and Malcolm, Duncan’s son, decide to tackle the problem head on.
This is from the series: Shakespeare in Shorts.
