The 30-year-old world-record points scorer won his 81st cap against Romania earlier this month, but has since been displaced by Stephen Jones and Iestyn Harris. "Neil knows exactly where he stands," said Hansen, "he has been performing very well this autumn and we were reasonably happy with the way he played against Romania.
"You have to remember Neil has only played six or seven times since hurting his knee and if we are going to continue to use him then we need to look after him and bring him back when is absolutely right physically and mentally. "I cannot control what Neil does but I hope he does not retire. He is still of great value to us as long as he has the desire and passion to play for Wales. The way he trains it looks like he does." Jenkins told BBC Wales earlier this week that he intended to fight to win his place back for the Six Nations and World Cup. |
