Lomu 'fit to tour'
Jonah Lomu on a typical charge against Italy
Lomu has seen his chances restricted this season
Jonah Lomu's manager has dismissed claims that the winger may miss the All Blacks' tour of Britain in November because of a knee injury.

New Zealand winger Lomu has not played since 7 September and will miss Wellington's National Provincial Championship match against Otago in Dunedin on Friday because of the problem.

But Lomu's manager, Phil Kingsley Jones, says All Blacks doctor John Mayhew has cleared the 27-year-old to play against Bay of Plenty next week.

He said: "He'll be playing a week on Saturday.

"I was with John Mayhew and Jonah on Monday afternoon and he wasn't fit enough to train this week...and John Mayhew said another week."

The All Blacks are due to play one-off tests against England, France and Wales in Europe in November.

Lomu, who has suffered from illness and injury in recent years, struggled to make the All Black team this season with Canterbury's Caleb Ralph favoured in the starting line-up.
