Lomu set for sub's role
Jonah Lomu is back in the New Zealand squad but only as a substitute
Jonah Lomu only makes the bench against South Africa
New Zealand winger Jonah Lomu will start Saturday's Tri-Nations match with South Africa on the bench.

After beating Australia 12-6 on Saturday, All Black coaches John Mitchell and Robbie Deans have announced an unchanged starting line-up for the clash with the Springboks in Wellington.

Lomu will be joined on the bench by his Wellington team-mate Tana Umaga after both were dropped from Saturday's series opener.

A niggling hamstring injury is still hampering Norm Maxwell who dropped out when the squad met on Tuesday.

His place has again gone to Waikato's Royce Willis, who was originally set to be cover for Maxwell at the start of the tournament.

Lomu continues to be kept out of the side by Caleb Ralph, who impressed against the Wallabies, while Umaga is replaced again by Mark Robinson.

New Zealand team: Christian Cullen, Doug Howlett, Mark Robinson, Aaron Mauger, Caleb Ralph, Andrew Mehrtens, Justin Marshall, Scott Robertson, Richard McCaw, Reuben Thorne (capt), Simon Maling, Chris Jack, Greg Somerville, Mark Hammett, Dave Hewett

Substitutes: Tom Willis, Joe McDonnell, Royce Willis, Sam Broomhall, Byron Kelleher, Tana Umaga, Jonah Lomu
